and

Ann Campbell

Note from the Convention Chair:

I invited Jennifer and Ann to speak because they both do outstanding but very different work, and was delighted that both were able to present. Jennifer has a startling talent for finding compelling details, and Ann does an amazing variety of excellent creative work.

About the presentations:

Small Scenes, by Jennifer Renwick:

In every grand landscape we photograph, smaller stories and moments are waiting to be photographed. Among the grandeur of the grand landscape, there are moments, details, and narratives. They may not catch your eye at first, but they are compelling and powerful stories nonetheless. In this presentation, Jennifer will teach techniques on how to find these moments and stories with your lens. She will discuss using visual inventories, slowing down to find compositional elements, using expressive photography to share the smaller narratives, photographing abstracts, and teach photographic techniques and lens choices that can help isolate the stories and moments in the larger landscapes.

Creative Photography, by Ann Campbell:

The materials to make creative images surround us. But what to do with them? That’s the tough part! This presentation will feature a variety of materials and techniques, showcasing both the finished images and how they were done. If you are interested in doing creative work but aren’t sure where to start or love learning new techniques, this presentation is a perfect way to fire up your imagination.
